When I was doing the recording of “Music For Freedom” I decided to take a song class before my song takes. I got some a good advice from the teacher, but normally you work during a long period of time of course. At the end of the lesson she asked me to listen to some singer-songwriter that I like to get the FEELING. She suggested Bob Dylan, but I shook my head. Then she asked: “What about Johnny Cash?”. She saw my hesitant look, and just said that should find one I like.
When I came home I found out that I wanted to listen to Kris Kristofferson. And I listened to his song “Me and Bobby McGee”. Here you can talk about FEELING! I mean it sounds like he experienced every syllable of the text. He is that kind of artist who seem to be very open and has close connection to his feelings. Maybe that’s why he’s also a great actor.
Anyway, I hope to make my version of that song on Saturday when I will play a gig in a small town(?) a few hours drive from here. Here is the song:
